From now on, the OpenMokast project will have a broader scope. In fact, we will consider all open source software frameworks that are relevant to mobile broadcasting applications instead of keeping a narrow focus on the Openmoko framework.

There are two reasons for this adjustment. First, that's what we initially wanted to do when we started the project in February 2007 but since we hoped to release code for Openmoko somewhere in the summer, we thought we would focus our project on that platform. Considering that we were not able to progress that much on Openmoko and that many new open software fremeworks are emerging (see previous posts), we would like to remain open to all possibilities.

Right now though, our next milestone continues to be the integration of CRC-DABRMS into Openmoko and the Neo1973.
