Nokia and Trolltech announced earlier today that they have entered into an agreement where Nokia will acquire Trolltech.

"Nokia strives for an open approach to technology that will encourage and support innovation in the industry, enable fast adoption of new technologies and advance healthy competition. Nokia embraces open source technology and will take further the open source development culture found in Trolltech."

As mentioned earlier in this blog, the open and free version of QTopia, the main Trolltech product, currently runs on the NEO1973. It will be interesting to see wether this merge will have any effect on the openmoko project. Nokia sells phones and so does FIC. Will Nokia focuson the closed of the open QTopia?
